Sell on Amazon

Sell more with Amazon

Amazon is one of the world’s largest online retailers and provides a unique opportunity to sell your products both in Denmark and internationally. However, succeeding on Amazon requires a sharp strategy and the right approach. At WeMarket, we have the expertise needed to help you get started offering and selling your products on Amazon.

Selling on Amazon – why?

Amazon has been on everyone’s lips in recent years, and as early as 2015, it was already the third most popular webshop in Denmark. This trend is only set to continue as e-commerce grows. And it’s not just in Denmark that Amazon is gaining ground. The same applies to markets such as Germany and the UK, not to mention the USA, where Amazon is the dominant player. If, as an online shop owner, you wish to expand into other markets, being present on Amazon is a clear advantage.

There’s no doubt that Amazon represents the future of online retail, as the platform already boasts a higher sales rate than Google. You should naturally take advantage of this – and we know exactly how you can.

Get started selling on Amazon

To start selling on Amazon, you have two options to choose from:

  • Amazon Seller
  • Amazon Vendor

The first is an effective way to get started, as registering as a seller gives you both the opportunity and responsibility to sell your products directly to customers. With Amazon Seller Central, you gain access to the entire European market and, by optimising your Amazon advertising, you can quickly start selling in multiple countries.

Amazon Vendor, on the other hand, is a more advanced sales channel, which requires an invitation or an application. This is suitable for those who want Amazon to handle orders for your products, including customer service and returns. This channel also gives you access to their advertising system and AMS Service.

We will, of course, help you determine which channel is best suited for your business to sell on Amazon.

Amazon FBA and FBM

When you start selling on Amazon, you can choose what type of seller you want to be. Here, you can distinguish between FBM (Fulfilment by Merchant), where you manage and dispatch your goods and handle logistics yourself, and FBA (Fulfilment by Amazon), where Amazon takes care of everything, allowing you to focus solely on selling your products.

Naturally, there are both advantages and disadvantages to each seller type. As an FBM seller, you have full control and flexibility, as well as lower costs since you handle everything yourself. However, this also places high demands on you and your business, as Amazon maintains strict standards regarding quality, stock levels, delivery times and more.

If you choose an Amazon FBA solution instead, you don’t need to worry about the requirements, as Amazon handles everything. The downside is, of course, that you relinquish control and are subject to fees for their assistance.

There are many further pros and cons to each seller type, and we are happy to discuss these in more detail with you when you’re ready to start selling on Amazon.

SEO is a key step to selling on Amazon

If you want to succeed on Amazon, it’s vital to focus on Amazon SEO. Amazon operates with a unique algorithm that rewards the use of a broad range of relevant keywords. It’s therefore crucial to create your sales listings with this in mind, as it directly impacts your ranking in the search results.

To get off to a good start with Amazon SEO, we recommend conducting a keyword analysis based on your product, so you can develop strong Amazon ads that are prioritised in the search results from the very beginning.

Effectively showcase your products with Amazon AMS

When you register as an Amazon Vendor, or are invited to become a Vendor, you gain access to AMS and the advertising system through Amazon Seller Central. This gives you the advantage of marketing your products on their advertising platform with keyword-specific campaigns, thereby exposing the products customers are searching for.

By targeting specific search terms relevant to your product, you have a solid foundation for success with your Amazon marketing. With our support, you can refine your target audience, campaign placement and the best way to market your product, ensuring you get the most out of your advertising spend.

Amazon listing

If you want to succeed with sales on Amazon, it’s essential to set up your products correctly. This means ensuring they are listed with the right keywords, bullet points and images. It’s important to prioritise Amazon SEO, as Amazon’s algorithm, A9, places great emphasis on this when determining how relevant your products are for customers and, consequently, how highly they are ranked on Amazon.

There are many factors to consider and be aware of when creating an Amazon listing. But with the right expertise and our knowledge of both listings and Amazon’s algorithm, we can ensure you get off to a strong start.

Brand Registration grants access to A+ Content and other benefits

With an Amazon Vendor profile, or a Seller profile with trademark registration in the EU, you can make your product pages more professional using what Amazon calls Amazon A+ Content. This is a feature we often recommend for special products, as it provides extended product text with graphic layouts, allowing your product to appear more professional and visually appealing – and thereby increase sales.

It’s a free feature to use, but requires trademark registration for access. If you don’t have this yet, but can obtain it, we generally recommend doing so, as it unlocks a range of additional benefits on Amazon beyond just A+ Content. We can, of course, advise and guide you further to ensure you make the most of your efforts.

Amazon Buy Box – a key element for success on Amazon

The Amazon Buy Box is one of the key areas we focus on when helping our clients sell on Amazon, as it’s estimated that as much as 82% of all sales on the platform take place directly through the Buy Box.

To advertise on Amazon, your product listing must have a Buy Box. However, this isn’t awarded automatically, as it depends on how you sell on Amazon, your account statistics, and your customer satisfaction levels.

The Buy Box is important because it increases the conversion rate of a product listing, and therefore has a significant impact on your success when selling on Amazon. We’ll cover all this and much more when we help you get started on the platform.
