Damkjær Sko is a footwear retailer with a history spanning over 60 years and several shops across West Jutland. Damkjær Sko was looking for a partner to manage their digital marketing with the aim of attracting more customers and increasing turnover. At the same time, Damkjær Sko needed a sparring partner to provide advice on optimising their online business and identifying the right media channels. The main challenge for Damkjær Sko was that they had never previously focused on online marketing, relying instead on organic traffic from search engines and brand recognition. Now, with nationwide delivery, Damkjær Sko can reach customers throughout Denmark.

Significant growth in visitor numbers on the current webshop

The objective set by WeMarket for damkjaersko.dk was clear: achieve much greater visibility on Google through organic traffic, Google Shopping, and Facebook advertising. We increased the number of monthly visitors, which resulted in a significant rise in both orders and newsletter registrations.

The right SEO strategy, combined with a well-structured website and targeted Google searches, led to increased visitor numbers, while product optimisation and feed management drove growth via Google Shopping. With Facebook advertising, we added another dimension to Damkjær Sko’s marketing mix, generating leads for newsletter sign-ups and reaching an entirely new customer base.

This combined effort has increased visits to Damkjær Sko’s existing webshop from 18,000 to 50,000 per month.

Much greater focus on customer databases

As visitor numbers grew, a pop-up was added to the website for newsletter sign-ups, now accounting for a third of all new subscribers. This initiative, combined with an intensive newsletter campaign, generates monthly revenue without the need to advertise on Google or Facebook. The growth in visitors from newsletters is shown below.

Damkjær Sko driver også Rieker skobutikken i Århus, og havde her mulighed for at få onlineagenturet i Danmark, og drive Rieker’s officielle webshop. Det betød en helt ny marketingstrategi, samt opbygning af kundedatabase og synlighed i søgemaskinerne med et udgangspunkt på 0. Udviklingen i antallet af besøgende ses nedenfor.

Focus on profitability and ROAS

From the outset, we have worked with a clear focus on ROAS to ensure we always have a healthy business on the channels where we invest in advertising. This means there is room for further investment, as profitability is always prioritised in our partnership with the client.

Looking abroad for further growth

Growth has enabled the client to invest in an 800 m2 external warehouse, allowing them to purchase more stock from suppliers on better terms. With this in place, the next step is to look abroad, with Sweden as the next market in sight.
